Athlete wins athletics championship in France with historical record after being attacked minutes before the race

Impressive! The athlete Wilfried Happio, became the French athletics champion of 400 meters hurdles at the Hélitas de Caen stadium, even though he was brutally assaulted minutes prior to the race.

According to reports, Happio was warming up before the competition in a facility near the competition, and 20 minutes before the start of the race one stranger asked him if he was "Wilfried the athlete" when he confirmed his identity, the individual began to attack him to the point of causing severe injury to his left eye.

His trainer, Oliver Valleys, intervened and managed to remove the aggressor from the athlete. However, this did not stop the young Frenchman, who ran minutes later with his eye bandaged to achive first place.

With a historical record of 48.27 seconds, he managed to get his ticket for the World Championships in Athletics (this is the fifth fastest time by a Frenchman in the history of the 400-meter hurdles)! The United States will hold the competition.

At the end of the competition, Wilfried was asked about what happened, to which he replied: “I don't want to stop to talk about it because competent people are still dealing with the matter. If we talk about the race, I recognize that with only one eye everything is more complicated, it feels good to have achieved the Minimum, because it means I made the season"
