Surf athlete Brisa Hennessy was chosen by UNICEF as Costa Rica's first national ambassador
Pride! Costa Rican surf athlete Brisa Hennessy was named by the United Nations Children's Fund ( UNICEF) as Costa Rica's first national ambassador.
The organization announced this great news through a press release, stating that Brisa will be participating in various activities promoting children's rights in Costa Rica in 2023.
" With great joy, we announce today @brisahennessy as our first National Ambassador for UNICEF Costa Rica! Brisa is an example of commitment and dedication. She is a young woman who is committed to promoting the rights of all girls, boys, adolescents, and young people in Costa Rica," UNICEF announced via its Instagram account.
Similarly, the Costa Rican expressed her happiness at being able to be part of this great organization. The surf athlete will use her platform and influence to help and raise awareness of the rights of children and adolescents.
"I've always been passionate about raising awareness about children's rights, and having this opportunity, especially in my home country of Costa Rica, is very special to me. I hope to contribute to making big changes together and providing a safe, happy, and enriching environment for future generations," Brisa commented.
This year the athlete finished the season ranked #5 in the world.
