Historic! Bodyboarders Yazdany Castro Rivas and Dulce Agüero Navarro became the first Costa Ricans to win medals at the first edition of the Central American and Caribbean Sea and Beach Games 2022, which are being held from November 19 to 25 in Santa Marta, Colombia.

Castro managed to obtain the silver medal, in the final heat he obtained a score of 12.33.

Jesús Daniel Arocha took first place and Edwin Núñez came in third.

Agüero also won bronze in the women's category with a score of 5.60. She was surpassed by Rosmarkys Álvarez with 8.883 and Olivia Ramírez with 7.20.
