Costa Rican baseball player Manuel Ascanio signed with Italy's top team

Congratulations! This Wednesday, January 18th, Costa Rican baseball player Manuel Ascanio announced that he has signed with Fortitudo Bologna, the most important professional team in Italy.

He Fortitudo Bologna is a team founded in 1932, they have 13 league titles (the last one in 2020) , 12 Italian Cups (last in 2022) and 6 European Champions Cups (last in 2019).

This year's season in Italy will begin on April 15th, where the Costa Rican is expected to triumph in the European league.

Manuel also expressed his happiness through his social media, where he highlighted that he will be playing in the A1 series.

"Officially signed to play in Italy's Serie A1 professional baseball league with Fortitudo Bologna. The number 1 team in Italian baseball. Glory to God and my parents always. Faith is the only thing I will never lose! A lifelong dream that undoubtedly had sacrifices, setbacks, failures, and much more, but with the strength of God and my parents, we're on the upswing. Next stop...Bologna," Manuel wrote.

Last year the young Costa Rican finished his time in college baseball in the United States after having studied and won two conference titles with Indiana Tech University during the last 4 years.
