Tico BMX freestyle street cyclist won a critical prize in the Spanish competition
Congratulations! BMX freestyle street expert Álvaro Esquivel López won a major prize at the O Marisquiño competition, which took place in Vigo, Spain.
The young man won the award for best Pro Street trick, and also managed to qualify for the final of the event and ended up placing in 4th position.
Similarly, Esquivel expressed on his social media how happy he is about this competition, because it was a dream come true and even though he didn't feel well days before, he decided to give his best.
"For me, it's incredible because it's a competition I always dreamed of coming to, and also because during the qualifying rounds I felt really bad, I even thought about not competing, but it's another lesson that life teaches me to always give my all and do everything possible to make things happen. I love Vigo and I love Spain," Esquivel said.
What is the O Marisquiño competition? This important event was born in 2001 and over the years has become the largest Urban Culture and Action Sports competition in southern Europe.
Currently, there are four Olympic disciplines: Skate (WCS), BMX, Breaking and 3x3 Basketball (FIBA), plus Dirt Jump (FMB Gold Event).
