The Dumbbell Challenge 2022 will feature more than 90 teams

Don't miss it! This year, 2022, the Dumbbell Challenge will have the largest number of participants in its eighth edition with a total of 96 teams . It will take place this coming November 5th and 6th at Saint Margaret School, Belen, Heredia.

According to the event's creator, Diego Madrigal, this competition had its first edition in 2015 and has been gradually evolving since then.

Requirements to participate in "Dumbbell Challenge":

  • Never having participated in a national or international competition
  • If he competed in an internal competition, and didn't reach the podium
  • You can't be a coach

Madrigal told us that the format and requirements of this event are designed so that modified participants have the same opportunities and face people of their own level.

"This is because initially, when I held the first internal competition, at the first event, I saw a great need to separate the RX and modified people. So I decided to focus on modified, and in this way reach a more specific target audience and have them compete against people of their own level," said Madrigal.

A total of 480 athletes will participate, along with their respective coaches, two women and two men. At the end of the event , three teams will be awarded grand prizes.

They also reward the team that stood out throughout the competition for its good unity, attitude, performance, among other things.

"The atmosphere we want to create in the Dumbbell competition is one of unity, of having good energy," said Madrigal.

Madrigal emphasized that this has been a project that has meant a lot to her life and is a great leap forward for athletes to have a wonderful experience in their first competition.

"The process that people go through before the competition, the team bonding, the coach, the atmosphere that is generated, the community in each box, is super cool, I never experienced it and I would have liked to experience it," Madrigal concluded.
