The most prestigious karate tournament in the Americas will take place in Costa Rica.

Amazing! This past Wednesday, February 8th, the Costa Rican Karate Federation and the Pan American Karate Federation announced that Costa Rica will host the America's most prestigious Karate Championship.

This tournament will take place from May 21st to 28th at the BN Arena gymnasium in Hatillo. The president of the Pan American Karate Federation, José García Mañón, explained that there will be three qualifying rounds for this event.

"The 36th Pan American Karate Championship will be held in Costa Rica, and it's the most important tournament in our confederation. We have three qualifying stages: North America, which will be on April 5th in Las Vegas; Central America and the Caribbean, which will be in Veracruz; and the final stage will be here in Costa Rica in May," García shared.

This will be the athletes' last chance to qualify for the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. This event will allow the athletes to finalize the rosters for the 12 categories.
