The Guanacaste women's beach soccer team finished as runner-up in the Mundialito tournament in Mexico.
Pride! The Guanacaste women's beach soccer team, Sámara ADG , were runners-up in the tenth International Beach Soccer World Cup, which took place from August 12 to 14 in Yucatán, Mexico.
The Costa Rican women did a great job, so much so that the goalkeepers were individually awarded as the best players of the tournament, because in all the matches they only allowed 9 goals.
During the competition, they faced Croatia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. In the final, they faced Portugal again, who became champions by winning 3-1.
One of the team's players, Keira Martinez, described the experience as unique.
