Esteban Navarro becomes world junior powerlifting champion
Costa Rican pride! At just 18 years old, powerlifter Esteban Navarro became the junior world champion of Powerlifting in Türkiye.

The native of Pérez Zeledón won a historic medal for the country at the 2022 Junior and Sub-Junior World Powerlifting Championships. The competition consists of three movements: squat, bench press, and deadlift.
The young athlete won two gold medals in the squat, where he lifted 245 kilograms , and the bench press, where he lifted 155 kilograms. Navarro also won an award in the overall category and expressed his joy on social media.
"World Champion -83Sjr.. Thank you @davigx1 for believing in me from day 1, without you none of this would be possible, I love you so much my friend, in the end we made it..Thanks to the friends at @no_gravity_training_method who are always there to support," said Navarro.
Esteban's coach, David Bolaños, told us that he is very proud of the goal achieved and that he has been supporting and guiding him during this process for three years.
"I feel motivated as a coach; achievements are never personal, they are always for others, but it's motivating to know that good work is being done in a sport that is still developing in our country, and having a top exponent is super important for powerlifting," Bolaños emphasized.
The athlete was also accompanied to Turkey by Manuel Campos, popularly known as "Manolo", who has stood out in the world of Powerlifting for his great achievements and medals at the national and international level.
