These were the Herediano players called up for the friendlies in Korea

We are getting closer to experiencing the World Cup in Qatar 2022, where of the 26 players called up, six are players from Club Sport Herediano.

The Costa Rican national team will play friendly matches this month, on September 23 against South Korea at the Goyang stadium and on September 27 against Uzbekistan in Suwon.

Luis Fernando Suárez, the national team coach, commented that these matches will be very useful for the players as preparation for the World Cup.

"The best reason for matches like these is to get together with the people I love and respect the most, which are the players, and especially this group that makes me feel happy," Suárez said.

- List of players called up:

Goalkeepers: Esteban Alvarado (Herediano), Aaron Cruz (Saprissa) and Patrick Sequeira (Lugo-ESP).

Defenders: Francisco Calvo (Konyaspor-TUR), Óscar Duarte (Al Wehda-SAU), Kendall Waston (Saprissa), Juan Pablo Vargas (Millonarios-COL), Keysher Fuller (Herediano) , Carlos Martínez (San Carlos) and Bryan Oviedo (Real Salt Lake-USA).

Midfielders: Celso Borges (Alajuelense), Daniel Chacón (Cartaginés), Roan Wilson (Municipal Grecia), Douglas López (Herediano), Bryan Ruiz (Alajuelense), Brandon Aguilera (Guanacasteca), Aarón Suárez (Alajuelense), Gerson Torres (Herediano), Anthony Hernández (Puntarenas), Jewison Bennette (Sunderland-ENG), Álvaro Zamora (Saprissa), Orlando Galo (Herediano) and Carlos Mora (Alajuelense).

Forwards: Joel Campbell (León-MEX), Anthony Contreras (Herediano) and Johan Venegas (Alajuelense).
