Historic! For the first time, the Costa Rican national handball team has qualified for the Junior World Handball Championship, which will be held in Germany and Greece from June 20 to July 2, 2023.
According to the team's official Facebook page, the Costa Ricans achieved this historic victory after finishing second and defeating Paraguay 29-22 in the SCA + IHF Junior and Youth Handball Trophy in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
"On behalf of the Federation, we extend our gratitude to all the coaches who train our young players, because without you we wouldn't have the talent and determination they have shown; also to all the families and handball enthusiasts who in one way or another have contributed to making this possible today," the Federation wrote.
