Historic! Yokasta Valle becomes a three-time world boxing champion
Congratulations! Costa Rican Yokasta Valle was crowned three-time world champion this past Saturday, November 26, after facing Argentinian Evelyn Bermúdez.
In the highly anticipated fight, Bermúdez put her International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) 108-pound belts on the line, which now belong to the Costa Rican.
Valle had already established herself as champion in the 102 and 105 pound weight classes, and she also has great victories against great athletes such as Thi Thu Nhi Nguyen, Lorraine Villalobos and Sana Hazuki.
This is the 14th victory for the Costa Rican player; her last defeat was on June 16, 2018.
"We are champions in three different divisions and unified in 105 and 108 but we are going for more, God willing, based on work, consistency and dedication, the only thing I can say is that YES WE CAN!!", Valle wrote on his social networks.
