Noyle Salazar, an indigenous Cabécar woman, positioned herself as the best participant from Latin America in the Skyrunning World Championships.
Costa Rican pride! Noyle Salazar, an indigenous Cabécar woman, had an incredible performance at the 2022 Skyrunning World Championship , which took place in Italy this past September 9-11.
The athlete finished as the second best participant from America in the Vertical Kilometer event of the world championship, with a time of 56 minutes and 26 seconds, and placed 25th among women.
The winner of the event was Swiss Maude Mathys with a time of 40 minutes and 50 seconds.
She also finished her participation in Italy with the 31-kilometer Sky Race as the best participant from Latin America, and at the world level she was placed in 38th position with a time of 4:47:37.
