After three years, WODFest returns in 2022 with its ninth edition

After three years, one of the most anticipated competitions for fitness lovers returns: WODFest 2022. This great event will have its ninth edition on December 2, 3, and 4 at the Roble Sabana Event Center in Belén, Heredia.

WODFest is a competition that started in 2012. However, it had a three-year hiatus because, in 2019, due to unforeseen circumstances, it could not be held, and subsequently, in 2020 and 2021, it could not be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This year they decided to come back strong to give both the athletes and the public a great experience . Tomás Calvo, the event's creator, shared his happiness and desire to be able to hold this competition again.

"I feel super excited, I think even the community was asking for this competition to return to the calendar, me too, the truth is I was looking forward to doing it again…," said Calvo.

This year's competition will feature 195 athletes across the masters, teens, RX, and scaled categories. Around 1,500 spectators are expected each day, and this will be the first three-day event.

"We were the first competition to have teen and master categories, with pool and mountain events. The pool has become a defining characteristic of WODFest; it's a challenge we like to present to the athletes," Calvo commented.

The competition will feature parking, amenities for athletes and spectators, a food court, and a merchandise area, among other features. Calvo also expressed his gratitude to the large companies that have supported them, as it is thanks to them that this event has become a reality.
