NATIONAL PRIDE! COSTA RICANS WIN THE FOURTH EVENT ON THEIR SECOND DAY OF COMPETITION

Athletes Chicho Quesada and José Pablo Luna began their second day of competition dominating an event filled with rope climbs, deadlifts, and sleds. After completing his three workout rounds, the young man from San Carlos finished with a very good time of 8:03.11, securing first place in his heat. Meanwhile, Quesada finished with a time of 9:49.10, also winning the "pulling power" event in his 40-44 age group.

The fifth event of the day was very challenging for both athletes. Luna finished in 12 minutes and 54 seconds, and Chicho completed the "gymnastics chipper" in 13 minutes and 45 seconds. Movements such as handstand walks, box jumps, GHD sit-ups, single-leg squats, and toes-to-bar were included in this WOD.

With a great atmosphere and excellent weather for the last event of the day, several categories began running the five kilometers, a course that was a bit challenging in some sections, according to the athletes. In the early stages, Quesada maintained a very good pace, completing the first kilometer in almost under four minutes (unofficial time). He finished the five kilometers in 20 minutes and 52 seconds, placing eighth in his category.

José Pablo completed the course in 21:43.68, finishing ninth in his heat. He currently sits in sixth place overall with 250 points, while Chicho has accumulated 310 points, securing fourth place.

Both Quesada and Luna continue to uphold the name of Costa Rica after demonstrating their effort and discipline on both days of competition in each of the events.
