Costa Rican pride! Cabécar indigenous man Noyle Salazar will participate in the World Sports Championships in Italy
Pride! Noyle Salazar, an indigenous Cabécar woman, has qualified for the 2022 Skyrunning World Championship , which will take place from September 9th to 11th.
This was confirmed by the Costa Rican Federation of Mountain Sports (FECODEM), the athlete will compete on September 9 in the vertical kilometer event, a continuous ascent of 3.8 kilometers with 1,063 meters of positive elevation gain and on September 11 she will do the ski event along with her teammates Natalia Rodríguez and Fernanda Torres.
At just 23 years old , this is his second qualification for a World Championship. In 2020 he obtained his ticket to the Skyrunning Spain 2020 competition, however, due to the pandemic it was moved to 2021, a year in which he could not attend due to the birth of his third daughter.
What is Skyrunning? A mountain sport that involves running across steep terrain. Poles, crampons, and hands can be used to aid progress.
