Costa Rican pride! Racquetball player Andrés Acuña nominated for the world "Best Athlete of the Year" award
Racquetball player Andrés Acuña was nominated for the global "Best Athlete of the Year" award for his outstanding sporting performance in 2022, as announced by the World Games organization .
In July 2022, the athlete became the first Costa Rican to win a medal at the 2022 World Games, and a gold medal.
The Costa Rican faces 23 candidates from various disciplines to win the global title.
How to vote for the "Best Athlete of the Year"?

- The platform will ask you cast a second vote , for an athlete other than Andrés Acuña.
- Has to cast said extra vote so that the votes for Andrés are counted.
- You can repeat The voting process takes place every 24 hours , until January 21st.
January 22 The 10 athletes with the most votes will be selected . The public will then participate in a final vote that will run until January 31st.
