Rich Froning announces his retirement from team competition at the CrossFit Games
Amazing! World-renowned CrossFit athlete Rich Froning has announced his official retirement from team competition at the CrossFit Games ; however, he may compete in the individual Masters category.
Through his Instagram account, the 35-year-old athlete announced the news, noting that he thought his retirement was widely known within the sports community; however, the public was surprised by the announcement.
"I thought it was widely known that this year was my last year competing in the team division, but I guess it's news to many. I've had an incredible career up to this point as an individual and as part of a team, and from now on whether I compete will be decided year by year depending on what stage of life I'm at and how this old body feels," Froning wrote.
In 2022, Froning earned his tenth CrossFit Games title , six team titles (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022) and four titles as "The Fittest On Earth" (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014).
