Costa Rican Manolo Campos inducted into the North American Powerlifting Federation Hall of Fame

The renowned Costa Rican athlete and world runner-up in powerlifting, Manuel (Manolo) Campos, received one of the most important pieces of news of his career in the sport this weekend, when the North American Powerlifting Federation (NAPF) Executive Committee announced his induction into the Hall of Fame.

"When they presented it to me, I could barely say thank you because of the lump in my throat. This is the greatest recognition the federation gives. I've tried to work hard and do things as well as possible, and now they're recognizing me in the best way," the athlete told us in a brief interview.

Manolo received this great news during the XIX North American Powerlifting Championship, which took place in Panama, where the Costa Rican managed to win several medals and recognitions.

"I basically have no words to explain what this makes me feel. I feel that everything that has been done is being recognized, and I am very happy and eager to take the sport of powerlifting to a level never before seen here in Costa Rica, with all the new athletes there are, with all the work that is being done," Manolo commented.
Manolo also won a gold medal in the Over 120 kg category and stood out as the best lifter of the NAPF Championship and the best lifter of the Central American Cup.

"This is it, everything I've done throughout my life, not just the world medals or world records, but I'm being recognized for all the work I've done," Manolo concluded.

Now the athlete is focusing all his effort and thoughts on the upcoming World Senior Open Equipped Powerlifting Championship to be held in Denmark in November.
