Tico became the Central American wheelchair tennis champion

At the beginning of August, Costa Rica hosted the Central American Wheelchair Tennis Championship for the first time in history , where para-tennis player José Pablo Gil became champion.

This major competition took place from August 4th to 7th in La Sabana, and featured the participation of El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Costa Rica.

The Costa Rican national team consisted of 9 field para-tennis players and they expressed their happiness at playing an international tournament in the country.

Athlete José Pablo Gil faced fellow Costa Rican Steven Enríquez in the grand final with a score of 6-0 and 6-2.

Finally, the Costa Rican took first place on the podium in both singles and doubles, and he also highlighted on his social media how happy he was about this achievement.

"Central American Champion in singles and doubles...Happy to win this tournament and to have achieved 3 consecutive Central American titles and even happier to see so many people supporting wheelchair tennis today," Gil wrote.
