After a three-year wait, the "Vuelta a Costa Rica 2022" race began this Friday.
Finally! After three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the most important cycling race in the country , "Vuelta a Costa Rica Telecable 2022," returned this Friday at 8:00 am.
This year marked the 56th edition , with the participation of 10 national teams, including the national cycling team, and five international teams.
This race has been a tradition every December and this year it will feature a new route that will cross a large part of the geography of the Costa Rican country and ends at Christmas at the Presidential Circuit, in Aurora de Heredia.
This Friday, the race began in Heredia and finished in Liberia, covering a total of 199.18 km. Luis Esteban Murillo, a cyclist from Tilarán, was the star of the first stage of this route and is currently in second place in the under-23 category.
