After three years, the National Surf Circuit finally returns to the country

It's official! The Costa Rican Surf Federation announced via its social media the long-awaited return of the National Surf Circuit, which will be held with five dates between February and June , a competition that has not been held since 2019.

This major surfing event was cancelled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, complying with all the precautions provided by the Ministry of Health at that time.

The surfers will compete on the Central Pacific, Caribbean and North Pacific coasts of the country on the following dates:

  • February 25th and 26th at Playa Hermosa.
  • March 25th and 26th at Playa Cocles.
  • April 15th and 16th in Santa Teresa.
  • 27 and May 28th at Dominical Beach.
  • June 24th and 25th at Playa Guiones.

It will also feature five events and six categories:

  • Open
  • Junior under-18
  • Groms under-14
  • Dolphins Under-10
  • Master
  • Longboard (male and female)

How do I register for

National Surf Circuit?

Registration for the first event costs ¢20,000 colones per category and ¢5,000 colones for membership:
  • Payment via SINPE Móvil for registration to 8887-7873
  • Payment confirmation and registration via FedeSurfCR WhatsApp
  • Registration will close one week before each event.
